CBD (cannabidiol) is a non-psychoactive substance that is now known for its wide range of positive effects on our entire body. CBD products have become a popular natural dietary supplement. What exactly are their effects and how CBD can be used can be found in this article.
CBD affects the endocannabinoid system, which every mammal has in its body. This system is responsible for regulating most life functions, from immunity, regeneration, food intake, and temperature regulation to, for example, reproductive function. Through its effects on the endocannabinoid system, CBD brings many beneficial effects, which have been confirmed, among others, by the World Health Organisation (WHO), which has called CBD promising for the future of medicine. The effects of CBD - what do studies say?
A 2011 review, which summarised some 132 scientific studies carried out on the effects of CBD, found very few side effects and no major effects on body functions. Basic body functions such as heart rate, body temperature, blood pressure, motor functions, psychological functions and digestive functions are completely unaffected by CBD. Many positive effects of CBD have been confirmed by studies and are listed above.
The most significant side effects include the effect of CBD on liver metabolism for certain substances or the possible worsening of HIV symptoms. In 2017, another group of researchers focused on the safety and side effects of CBD. A large number of studies were conducted between 2011 and 2017.
What is the difference in the effects of CBD from one manufacturer to another?
The differences, although they may not seem so at first glance, can be very marked. One manufacturer's oil will give you a different effect than another's. This is mainly due to the manufacturing process. For maximum effect, we recommend always using full-spectrum CBD oils. These are oils that contain the full spectrum of cannabinoids (including THC, but only up to the legally allowed level that is non-psychoactive). With these oils, you are assured that the resulting therapeutic effect will be multiplied just by combining the individual ingredients in the hemp. Scientists have found that cannabinoids work as a "cocktail" - they support each other. It is also called the Entourage effect.

How can CBD be used?
CBD is known in many forms, with CBD oils and capsules being the most commonly used.
CBD can also be used through vaporisation, cosmetics or hemp products. However, with cosmetics, the product is applied topically and therefore does not directly enter the bloodstream. It is suitable for local application (for acute pain), but for longer-term pain relief, it is recommended to supplement it with a product that is taken orally.
First, you need to determine the reason why you want to take cannabidiol. Each method differs in the onset of action and how long the substance stays in the body.
The dosage of the product itself is a very individual thing where many factors come into play.
How are the effects of CBD hemp different from marijuana?
Well, first of all, it's important to clarify that hemp vs. marijuana is not the same plant.
While CBD hemp use is legal and is only the non-psychoactive variety, marijuana is a plant with psychoactive effects and illegal use. CBD supplements can only be made from legal cannabis strains.
Is CBD legal?
CBD is legal in most EU countries. Before buying a CBD product, be sure to check the legality of the CBD in your country, especially if you live outside the EU.
Experience with the effects of CBD
As I have seasonal allergies, with each arrival of the grass blossom season, my life is turning upside down. Since allergy pills don't work as well as I would like, I decided to try CBD oil. I started with 2 drops 2 times a day of 10%.
The first time I took it, after about an hour, I felt my eyes stopped itching and my nose stopped being so sensitive. I still combine the oil with medication, but instead of taking 2-3 tablets, I now take 1.
Now my morning looks like this: when I wake up, I feel my eyes itch and a runny nose appears. I immediately take 1 tablet of medication and 2 drops of CBD and an hour later I feel completely fine. ☺️
