Sleep is a vital cycle, repeated day after day. Sleep has a huge impact on your mood, energy and ability to function normally. Why does sleep disturbance occur? How do we deal with insomnia and sleep disorders? Can CBD be a solution?

Why is sleep so important?

Sleep is a state of rest, of physical inactivity, lasting on average about 8 hours. It is during sleep that all the body's systems recover, the memory is "formed" and the immune system's resistance to infectious agents increases.

However, various external and internal factors can affect the sleep cycle. Short-term insomnia is the most common sleep problem in people of all ages. However, sleep disturbances can persist for long periods of time, interfering with both daily activities and general health.

Chronic insomnia can cause serious health problems. The consequences of sleep disturbance can be very disastrous. For example, those who regularly lack sleep or sleep rough are at increased risk of cardiovascular disease (hypertension, heart attacks, strokes), risk of obesity and diabetes, risk of immunodeficiency, and may also be at risk of mental health problems.

Although insomnia is the most common sleep problem, it is not an illness in itself but is often a symptom of various ailments.

What are the causes of sleep disorders?

Causes can vary, sometimes insomnia lasts for several days and disappears spontaneously, which may indicate temporary factors, such as severe stress or time zone changes, as well as uncomfortable conditions for rest.

Sleeping problems can have psychological and physical causes, such as:

  • psychological problems: depression, anxiety, chronic stress, psychiatric (bipolar) disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder; "jet lag" syndrome, night work (e.g. on-call for doctors, or work with excessive workload and responsibilities),
  • alcohol and caffeine-containing drinks;
  • medication intake;
  • medical problems, such as coughing, breathing problems, Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease, thyroid disorders, urological problems, digestive disorders
  • skin diseases and allergies,
  • women problems, such as menopause and menopausal disorders;
  • various chronic pain conditions.

Medicines prescribed by a doctor may not always help, and often bring many side effects. CBD, which is a natural alternative, has already proven itself and has shown its benefits in many problems, including sleep problems.

How can CBD help with sleep problems?

We have already written an article on how exactly CBD can help improve sleep.

In short, CBD acts on the endocannabinoid system, which is responsible for many vital body functions such as mood, appetite, sleep and regulation of circadian rhythms. The endocannabinoid system is a network of cannabinoid receptors in the brain and central nervous system - CB1 and CB2.

Cannabinoids interact with these receptors and produce various effects. Regarding the effects on sleep, some studies suggest that CBD can interact with specific receptors, potentially influencing the sleep/wake cycle.

In addition, CBD can reduce anxiety, stress and pain, which can interfere with restful sleep. CBD then helps to reduce certain symptoms that interfere with healthy sleep.

Customer experience "CBD for sleep"

This was also the case for our client who for many years could not sleep properly and the only thing that relieved her was CBD.

The customer contacted our hemp counselling saying that she had been having trouble sleeping for years and that she didn't know what to do anymore.

Expert advisor Pavel Cermak replied:

"...Have a nice day,

CBD is a substance that has significant sedative, antipsychotic and antidepressant effects. It can significantly promote sleep quality (among other things). It is not a problem to consume it with other sedative herbs - lemon balm (Melissa officinalis), valerian (Valeriana officinalis), etc.

How many mg of CBD to take in your case is difficult to say, as it is a very individual matter. Therefore, I would recommend you start with a smaller dose and gradually increase it.

Always apply CBD oil before conventional medicines (if you take any). This is because CBD oil can (with certain types of drugs) prevent the active substances from breaking down in the liver - into metabolites. In the end, this means that over time, you'll be able to give a smaller dose of conventional drugs (which have lots of side effects), with the same effects.

For the problems you mention, I recommend buying CBD capsules and CBD extra hemp tea. Start with one cup of hemp tea, which you brew around 6 pm. Pour a tablespoon of the herb into a cup of about 300 ml, add 1/4 teaspoon of coconut fat, pour boiled water and let it infuse for about 10 - 15 minutes. It doesn't matter if you leave it longer. You can then use the leached herbs in the next infusion.

Next, about 1 hour before bedtime, apply 1 - 2 capsules. If this amount will be not effective enough and the effect will not appear within the first 2-3 days, increase the dose of the capsules by one capsule after 2-3 days until the amount that will have the desired effect.

If necessary, it is possible to take a capsule in the morning to get the antidepressant effect during the day - ideally 1.5 hours apart with medication, in case you take any.

In case of questions, contact me back :)..."

And after three months, a great answer flashed in our inbox:

"...Hello...I haven't contacted you back... but I want to thank you that after years I am finally sleeping, even when I wake up, I fall asleep immediately...which was not possible before... finally I am not tired after the night.... thank you very much.

I don't use anything now...because I can sleep without anything myself...I have finished the capsules and I sleep fine without them :)..."

And that's great news! Thank you for this feedback!

And it doesn't end with this reference, we have many more:

At Christmas, I got CBD oil and I finally sleep peacefully at night. Thank you and I recommend it to everyone!

I have already tried a lot of Cannadorra products and I am satisfied with them. I regularly use protein from hemp, which I add to morning mash or protein bars of my own production. CBD oil helps me improve sleep.

Dear team, I have had the experience that both the CBD and the CBG oil have a very good effect on the stomach and intestines. I find hemp tea, in general, to be beneficial and promote sleep. Let's see how it becomes noticeable on my next diabetes appointment. Yours sincerely, A

For about a year, my family and I have been drinking CBD and CBG tea daily with oil. In the evening for better sleep, during the day when stressed or unwell. In pain with a drop of CBD hemp oil 5%. So we hardly need any more painkillers and no other drugs for reassurance. My heart rhythm disturbances became less frequent, sleep deeper, and falling asleep faster. Tea and oil are excellent, have no side effects and we got used to the harsh taste quickly. We also apply CBD hemp oil drop by drop on the skin to achieve intensive regeneration.
