Every oil has a certain quality for which it can be appreciated, but hemp oil has several. It has a balanced ratio of Omega-3 and Omega-6 and contains phytosterols, tocopherols, chlorophyll, vitamins and minerals. What does all this mean for your pets?
What can be found in hemp oil?
Omega-3 and omega-6
While omega-9 can be produced by the body, omega-3 and omega-6 need to come from food or supplements. The essential fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6 have been shown to contribute to a healthy heart in dogs, cats and humans. They help keep cholesterol levels low, stabilise irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias) and lower blood pressure. Linoleic acid (LA) is found in vegetable oils (corn oil, soybean oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, hemp oil), whole-grain cereals and poultry fat (chicken, turkey and duck fat).
Phytosterols
The main phytosterols include b-sitosterol, campesterol, stigmasterol and avenasterol. A daily intake of 1-3 g of plant sterols reduces LDL-cholesterol levels by about 5-15 % in different population groups.
Chlorophyll
This is a green pigment found in green plants, cyanobacteria, and algae. It gives hemp oil its typical colour.

What kind of feedback do we get from pet owners?
Many of our customers have already tried giving cannabis to their animals. The largest group are, of course, dog owners, but we are also approached by owners of cats, horses and even ferrets and chinchillas.
Among the most common effects is an improvement in the condition of the coat. The pet's coat becomes shinier and looks healthier and thicker. The skin recovers and returns to its natural state after the effects of various rashes and eczema. This is confirmed, for example, by Staffordshire Bull Terriers Abe, Beanie and Massey, whose owner wrote about hemp oil: "We have been using hemp oil for a long time, and everyone is always complimenting us on the beautiful shiny coat, especially the blue ones, for whom salmon is not recommended."
Another observed effect is the beneficial effects on sensitive digestion, as confirmed, for example, by dog helper Sunny, who goes by the name @asistent_sunny on Instagram. "We noticed the effects of hemp oil on digestion almost immediately, as the problems that Sonny used to have (1-3 days a month more liquid and frequent stools) disappeared after 1-2 weeks and he no longer had these digestive problems."
