CBD for pain

How may CBD help with pain?
First, let us take a closer look at how CBD may affect pain perception.
We all have an endocannabinoid system, also known as the ECS. It is involved in regulating many processes in the body, including appetite, body temperature, inflammatory responses and pain perception.
The interaction between CBD and the endocannabinoid system may support the regulation of inflammation and pain perception. This means that CBD drops, oils and other CBD products, including CBD patches, may be helpful for people experiencing chronic discomfort such as persistent back pain. CBD is generally well tolerated, although side effects and interactions with medicines may occur.
CBD and pain have also been examined in scientific research
A scientific review published in 2009 examined cannabinoids and their potential role in the management of difficult-to-treat pain.
Another study focused on the experiences of people with fibromyalgia who used cannabis. Research into cannabinoids has addressed conditions involving:
- neuropathic pain
- fibromyalgia
These and other studies suggest that cannabinoids may have potential in the management of certain types of pain. However, the existing evidence does not allow firm conclusions to be drawn about CBD alone, and further high-quality clinical research is required to determine its effectiveness, suitable dosage and long-term safety.
CBD dosage for pain associated with arthritis
The following general guidance is based on the experience gathered by Cannadorra’s hemp advisers:
If the discomfort lasts throughout the day, it may be helpful to divide the daily amount of CBD into three separate servings. Some experienced users choose higher concentrations, such as 20% CBD oil. A cautious approach is to begin with a low amount, for example three drops three times a day, and monitor the response. Any increase should be gradual. The ideal amount is highly individual and may depend on the product, body weight, individual sensitivity, other medicines and the nature of the condition. For more intense discomfort, some people combine oral CBD oil with a topical hemp or CBD product applied to the affected area.
The response to hemp products in cases of arthritis-related pain is highly individual. Preliminary research suggests that CBD may influence inflammatory processes, but it should not be considered a replacement for medical diagnosis or prescribed treatment.
CBD dosage for headaches and migraines
First, try to identify which part of the day your migraine attacks occur most frequently. You can then time your CBD use accordingly. If there is no clear pattern, you may begin with a low amount, such as one or two drops three times a day. The dosage can then be adjusted gradually after several days according to your response and the instructions provided with the product. Some people use a lower daily amount as part of their regular routine and take an additional targeted serving when they feel a migraine beginning. Hemp tea may also be included as part of a relaxing daily routine.
For example, someone may regularly use two drops of 10% CBD oil three times a day and take a larger single serving when the first signs of a migraine appear. The oil is usually placed between the lip and gum or under the tongue and left there for a short time before swallowing. Always follow the product instructions and consult a healthcare professional if migraines are severe, frequent or accompanied by unusual symptoms. Read our full article about CBD and migraines.
CBD dosage for back pain
When customers contact us about back pain, we often discuss combining an oral CBD product with a topical product, such as CBD patches or CBD gels.
We also have a personal customer story describing the use of CBD for back discomfort. Read our exclusive interview with a customer who tried CBD herself. Please note that this interview reflects one person’s individual experience and does not constitute medical evidence. The interview was conducted before CBD patches were added to our product range. Today, many customers choose to combine CBD oil with CBD patches.
Jane, what difficulties were you experiencing, and why did you decide to try hemp products?
For five years, I had been experiencing back pain on the left side of my body, extending from my heel to the top of my head, and it affected me every day. I tried various natural supplements, but they did not help. I also began to experience migraines, which encouraged me to keep looking for other options. I discovered your website, Cannadorra.com, while searching online. At the time, my main concern was the increasingly persistent migraines, so I decided to try hemp products.
Which products did you start with, and how did you use them?
I started using 5% CBD drops on my own, and I noticed a difference in my migraines almost immediately.
After a few days, my back pain also eased.
How did you continue using hemp products?
I then discovered Cannadorra’s hemp advisory service and spoke to Pavel Čermák about my situation and the treatment I was already receiving. I eventually purchased 10% CBD oil, CBG oil and CBD capsules, which I have now been taking for two months.
How do you feel now?
The effect became stronger and, most importantly, more consistent. I currently feel free from pain and migraines. My good mood has also returned. My tendons feel more flexible, particularly in my hands and back.
Why did you choose Cannadorra?
It was simple: I appreciated the company’s approach, the helpful advisory service and the quick response.
Will you continue using hemp products?
I certainly plan to continue. I would like to keep feeling as well as I do now, without migraines or back pain :-).
I also have high cholesterol, so I would like to focus on supporting a healthier lifestyle.
What does your family think about your experience?
My family is delighted with the outcome. My husband has also started using 5% CBD drops as part of his routine. My daughter experiences long-term back pain and, after hearing about my experience, said that she would also consider trying CBD.
I also use CBD toothpaste, which I find very pleasant. Hemp seeds are delicious too. I add them wherever I can and sometimes eat them on their own.

Possible side effects of CBD
Side effects associated with CBD are not common, but when they occur, they may include:
- tiredness
- diarrhoea
- changes in appetite
- changes in body weight
CBD may interact with certain prescription and over-the-counter medicines. It is often well tolerated, but people taking medication should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using it. Particular caution is required with medicines that carry a grapefruit warning, as both CBD and grapefruit may affect enzymes involved in the metabolism of certain medicines.
