How does CBD work against pain?

First, let's find out just how CBD works for pain!

Each of us has what is called an endocannabinoid system (ECS) in our body. This is responsible for most of the functions in our body, such as taste, temperature, inflammation, etc... CBD just interacts with the main component of the ECS, namely its receptors.

CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system in a way that it acts as an anti-inflammatory and pain reliever. This means that CBD oil and other products with CBD (such as CBD patches) can help people with chronic pain, such as chronic back pain. And the best part is that CBD, unlike synthetic medication, has almost no side effects.

There are also studies on CBD for pain

Back in 2009, there was a study on CBD and chronic pain. It evaluated how well CBD works in alleviating it.

Another study was particularly interested in 2 types of pain:

• neuropathic pain
• fibromyalgia

Based on these studies, researchers concluded that CBD was effective in the overall treatment of pain. In doing so, it did not cause negative side effects. In order for researchers to come to a more concrete conclusion and consider the need to continue to investigate these effects.

CBD dosing for arthritis pain

If the pain caused by arthritis is all day, dole out CBD in 3 doses per day. If the desired effect is not seen within 3-5 days, increase the dosage. Continue in this manner until the desired effect is obtained. If the pain is truly unbearable, we recommend taking the CBD oil combination orally (in the mouth) and using CBD coconut oil topically as a lubricant for painful joints.

The effect of hemp on arthritis pain is really very individual. For example, in rheumatoid arthritis, CBD oil reduces the inflammation that results from the pain problem - it is by reducing the inflammatory factor that less pain occurs.

CBD dosage for headaches, migraine

Ideally, start by specifying what time of the day you have the most migraines. Focus your CBD dosing on these parts of the day. If you cannot determine this, take CBD 3 times a day for 1-2 drops, you can gradually (after 3-5 days) increase the dosage until the desired effect is achieved. As a preventive measure, we recommend taking a lower dose and then 1 targeted dose when a migraine occurs.

Example: you take 2 drops of 10% CBD oil 3 times a day as a preventive measure, a migraine comes, you put 6 drops at a time between your lip and gums and massage thoroughly.

CBD dosage for back pain

Ms Alena, what worried you, and how did you decide to try hemp products?

I have had problems with back pain on the left side from the heel to the top of the head for 5 years and it bothered me every day… I tried various natural supplements, but they didn't help. Migraines also joined in, forcing me to keep looking. I came across your website on the Internet and I was primarily dealing with increasingly persistent migraines, so I wanted to try hemp.

What products did you start with and how? 

I started with 5% CBD and the effect on migraine came almost immediately. After a few days, the back pain stopped.

How did your hemp therapy go on?

How are you feeling now?

Side effects of CBD on pain

Side effects with CBD are not common, but if they do occur, they may include:

• fatigue
• diarrhoea
• changes in appetite
• weight change

CBD may interact with some over-the-counter or prescription medications. Generally, however, CBD is well tolerated in combination with other medications. You just have to be careful - if you are taking a prescription medication and a dietary supplement that might contain grapefruit. Both CBD and grapefruit interfere with enzymes that are key to drug metabolism.
