Let's face it, when you say hemp, many of you think of THC - the psychoactive "bogeyman" and actually the brother of the now-famous CBD.  It's important to know the difference between these cannabinoids so that we can understand the principle and workings of hemp products. But what exactly are THC and CBD and what is the difference?

THC vs. CBD

The hemp plant has more than 113 cannabinoids - the most well-known of which are the psychoactive THC and the non-psychoactive CBD - which is now growing in popularity, mainly because of its effects. Read for yourself the personal experiences of CBD users.

Products with a THC content of up to 0.2% are legal, non-psychoactive, and can be freely traded (of course, depending on the type of product, there are obligations to be met - in particular notification - market notification, etc...). Therefore, always choose only verified suppliers - with products from Cannadorra you can always be sure that they are legal food supplements.

CBD products are becoming more and more popular, especially due to their effects - CBD hemp oil harmonizes the natural processes in the body and thus supports its natural defenses. You can read more about how CBD helps, for example, in the following testimonials from our customers:

Again, I was convinced that nature is everything! Well, simply put, thanks to your products, my life can finally improve and I will be able to function normally. I would definitely like to try your vaporizer as well, as the efficiency is even better, so as soon as my financial situation improves, I will definitely go for it :) So far, this competition of you, in which it is possible to get CBD capsules, but also other quality products. I bet on CBD capsules and hemp ointment

I discovered Cannadorra a year ago, and I'm very happy about it, at first I didn't orient myself, but thanks to their great communication with customers, I had not only advice on what to choose, but also how to enjoy it. I have a physical pain and because of them also insomnia. CBD tablets, their beautiful green color is a feast for the eyes, and not only that, they fall asleep beautifully after them, I felt a general mental calm. sore joints and muscles, there is no lard so pleasantly smells and spreads well on massaging, for me it's great, I'm looking forward to trying other products.
Have a nice day and go on, you do a great job.

Multiple sclerosis and CBD drops

They've been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I've been looking for all the options to handle life and work. By chance, I came across CBD drops and hoped for a miracle. I had big cramps in my stomach, I badly felt my left leg, arm, and torso. Absolute hell. After a week of use, spasms began to fade and finally, I felt better. As a bonus, digestion was also adjusted. Hemp oil has become a necessity for me to continue working. I believe I will be here for a long time, and this great miracle - hemp - will have a great merit.

CBD is now sold in the form of gels, CBD oils, capsules, teas, etc... It should also be mentioned that both compounds interact with your body's endocannabinoid system, but have very different effects (What is the body's endocannabinoid system).

CBD vs. THC: chemical structure

CBD and THC have exactly the same molecular structure: 21 carbon atoms, 30 hydrogen atoms, and 2 oxygen atoms. The slight difference in the arrangement of the atoms accounts for the different effects on your body.

Both CBD and THC are chemically similar to your body's endocannabinoids. This allows them to interact with your cannabinoid receptors.
The interaction affects the release of neurotransmitters in your brain. Neurotransmitters are chemicals responsible for transmitting messages between cells and play an important role in, for example: pain perception, immune function, stress, and sleep.

CBD vs. THC: psychoactive components

Despite their similar chemical structure, CBD and THC do not have the same psychoactive effects. You won't feel "high" after CBD, and instead, you'll be surprised at how positively it can affect certain processes in your body.

THC binds to cannabinoid 1 (CB1) receptors in the brain. It produces a feeling of euphoria, a "high" feeling.

CBD binds very weakly, if at all, to CB1 receptors. And that's where it works - that's where it's able to affect temperature regulation, inflammation, sleep, pain... in short, it harmonizes the body's natural processes.

However, CBD needs THC in small amounts to effectively bind to the CB1 receptor - products containing CBD and up to the legally permitted non-psychoactive THC level are called full-spectrum CBD oils. Conversely, did you know that CBD can help reduce some of the unwanted psychoactive effects of THC, such as euphoria or sedation?

CBD vs. THC: legality

THC itself is illegal. However, if THC is present in CBD products - specifically food supplements - up to the legally allowed level (0.2% - the legal amount depends on each country), then it can be considered legal. Everything must be backed up by analysis and proper laboratory tests.

Side effects of CBD vs. THC

CBD is well tolerated, even in larger doses. Research suggests that any side effects that occur when taking CBD are likely the result of interactions between CBD and other medications you may be taking.

THC causes temporary side effects such as:

  • increased heart rate
  • coordination problems
  • dry mouth
  • red eyes
  • slower reaction
  • times memory loss
  • anxiety

Side effects of CBD may include:

  • appetite changes
  • fatigue
  • weight loss
  • dizziness
  • diarrhea

So what is the difference between CBD vs. THC

CBD and THC have their own therapeutic benefits. Even doctors can prescribe medicine with higher THC content for certain ailments. However, these medicines are not freely available. If you are one of the groups of people who are plagued by civilization diseases, or you are just worried about excessive stress or anxiety, we recommend you to try CBD products, and maybe they will become a good and faithful helper for you :-).

However, always consider carefully the possibility of side effects and interactions with other medications you are taking. Consult your doctor before use and if you have any questions.
