What to look out for when choosing?
The following factors should play a vital role when choosing CBD drops for your pet and we recommend focusing on them.
Human vs. animal CBD oil
We have already written an article about the difference between human and animal CBD oil. It is important to choose products approved by the State Institute for the Control of Veterinary Biologicals and Medicines (ÚSKVBL), whose approval declares zero THC content, which can be toxic to dogs.

Look for CBD content in mg
An important guideline for comparing different manufacturers is to ask for the CBD content in mg per bottle. It is not the case here that a 0.5l pack is more than 10ml. Because a half litre may end up having less CBD content than a concentrated 10ml.
Even the percentage content can often be misleading, you really need to look for the CBD content in milligrams and only compare that.
Our CBD oils contain according to concentration:
- 2% CBD oil for dogs - 190 mg CBD per bottle
- 5% oil for dogs - 420 mg CBD per bottle
- CBD oil 10% for dogs - 970 mg* CBD per bottle

Recommended dosage
Don't be fooled by the recommended dosage on the package. Often a low dosage is given purely for legislative reasons but as it is a natural product and the body's response to CBD is very individual, the correct dosage should be worked up gradually. Test how the animal's body reacts to low and higher doses. Unfortunately, there are no tables. However, we will try to make the choice easier for you with the following overview.
What concentration to choose?
The reaction of people and animals to CBD is very individual, so if you are hesitant, we recommend that you choose a lower concentration and if you gradually increase the dose to more than 6-8 drops per day, next time buy a higher concentration and reduce the dose by about half.
- 2% CBD oil - intended for cats (they have a more sensitive endocannabinoid system) and other small animals (up to 5-7 kg), or for dogs for mild problems such as stress, anxiety, or just as a prevention and immunity support
- 5% CBD oil - for smaller dogs (up to 10-15 kg) or for lighter ailments, skin diseases, more serious stress conditions, etc.
- 10% CBD oil - for larger dogs (over 15-20 kg) and more severe forms of illness (epilepsy, severe pain - osteoarthritis, cancer, etc.)
Example:
"I have a 10 kg dog with epileptic seizures. I get him 5% CBD drops and start with a dose of 1 drop 3 times a day, gradually after a week I increase to 2 drops 3 times a day and I find that the seizures have partially subsided but still appear here and there, I try again after another 5 days to increase to 3 drops 3 times a day. That's a total of 9 drops a day of 5% CBD oil for dogs. So I decided that next time I will go straight for 10% CBD oil and give only 2 drops 3 times a day. This will keep the effect and the 1 pack (250 drops) will last me longer. In case of a seizure, I can give a single dose of up to 4 drops of 10% CBD oil for faster recovery."
The oils do not serve as a substitute for conventional treatments, but it is common practice that with long-term use, the dose of conventional medications can be subsequently reduced or discontinued altogether after consultation with the attending veterinarian. It is recommended to take them an hour apart from other medications. The oils have a nutty flavour and taste good to the animals.

How to start dosing?
Always start with a lower dose (1 drop 2-3 times a day), drip directly into the mouth, or administer on a small piece of food. After a week of use, the dose is gradually increased (2 drops 2-3 times a day). If necessary, gradually increase by 1 drop after a week until the problem disappears. In situations that aggravate the condition, the normal dose can be increased to twice the normal dose in the short term. Use long-term. After 2-3 months of use, take a break for a week to allow the body to cleanse itself of the cannabinoids and then start again at a low dose - this is to avoid gradual habituation to higher and higher doses.
